This happens to me about a year back.
One of my friend's PC got infected with spyware but he was reluctant to pay for a anti spyware software saying that he will use those beta anti spyware provided for free....
Yes you can do that ,but remember one thing...u may be using a BETA version of a anti spyware but i don't remember any BETA spyware and Adware on the network...haha...BETA software are mean for testing and feedback from you not meant for production environment.
